READING PASSAGE
Your school is launching a recycling drive. During assembly, your teacher has asked you to share this story with your schoolmates to encourage everyone to reduce waste. You will now present the story to the school.
Ming Wei groaned when Mrs Tan announced the Green Points Challenge. Every class would receive a blue recycling bin, and the class that filled the most bins by the end of the term would win a pizza party.
"We'll never beat Class 6E," he muttered to his best friend. "They win everything."
That afternoon, Ming Wei watched his classmates toss their plastic bottles into the dustbin as usual. Suddenly, an idea sparked. He taped a hand-drawn poster above the blue bin that read, "Feed me! Ten points a bin!"
The next morning, someone had added googly eyes to the bin. By Friday, feeding the bin had become the most popular game in class. Pupils rinsed their bottles at recess and even brought cartons from home.
One month later, the principal announced the results over the speakers. "With eighteen full bins, the winner is Primary 6D!" The classroom erupted in cheers.
"See?" Ming Wei told his best friend, grinning. "Saving the Earth just needed a pair of googly eyes."
