READING PASSAGE
Your school is promoting healthy living during Health Week. Your teacher has asked you to read this story to your classmates to encourage them to make healthier choices. You will now present the story to the class.
Jun Kai's water bottle was famous in Primary 6C — because it had never once held water. He filled it with fizzy drinks every morning and topped it up with syrup drinks at recess.
"Water is boring," he declared, whenever anyone asked.
Then came the trials for Sports Day. Jun Kai had always been the fastest boy in class, but halfway through the four-hundred-metre race, his legs turned to jelly. He watched, gasping, as three runners overtook him before the finishing line.
His coach walked over and handed him a bottle of plain water. "Fast cars need the right fuel," she said. "So do fast runners."
For the next month, Jun Kai drank water with every meal and swapped his chips for fruit at recess. It was not easy, and he grumbled almost every day.
But on Sports Day, Jun Kai crossed the finishing line first. He celebrated by raising his famous bottle high above his head. This time, everyone could see exactly what was inside.
